Read online, and of course online information is always reliable, that Porsche is developing a small sports car, smaller than the Boxster, with perhaps a manual convertible top, spartan accommodations and gadgets, and perhaps a 1.6 liter engine.

Designated the "718" project at this point.

Believe it when I see it.

I read the article (Google translated it for me).  It's 99% of what the Boxster Spyder aspired to be a couple of years back. I REALLY wanted one of those, but not for the $70K that dealers were asking.

IMHO, Porsche REALLY needs a sports car that is elemental, and not bloated with PDK, Sport-Chrono, etc. For those of you not paying attention-- the 991 GT3 is not available with a manual transmission, nor is the turbo. Yeah-- the PDK is faster, etc., etc.-- but if I wanted the car to drive itself, I'd just hire a cab to haul me around.

I'd roll it, and never look back. It'll never come here-- and if it does, every single one will be larded up and pimped out like all new Porsche product is. We're a long way from the "less is more" ethos.

Umm.... well, if I take off my glasses and squint... I can see they're both silver.

I don't think this is a hill you want to die on, Noel. I know you liked it and all, but that's quite a stretch. They really look nothing alike.
