356 drums are huge compared to VW Bug drums. You would have to replaces all the pieces including backing plates. The front 356 brakes use 2 brake cylinders - not a single one like the beetle. If you are looking for the finned aluminum brake drum look there are plastic replica skins that can be added --- give the look but not the braking performance. These 356 parts are very expensive (just the front wheel cylinders for one side are $320) - if its the performance you are looking for then new disc brakes are the solution.

Look at my 356 brake conversion pics in the "Photos" section. I Rebuilt (using some VW parts) and installed 356B drums on my car and it is not that difficult but I can make it much, much easier for you. My car now stops on a dime and boy, I feel so much better now especially with my powerful motor. I can walk you through it if you are interested. I can tell you exactly what you need and I might have a few extra parts available.
Thanks,
Tony
