Sorry for an ignorant question, but what is the correct color name for the red used on 57 Speedsters? I need to re-paint my hood to correct some imperfections, and I will use acrylic enamel since that is what is on the rest of the car (I believe that period correct Porsche red was used). Does anyone know any manufacturers paint code numbers to ask for, such as DuPont, R-M, etc.?

Ron,
Probably you didn't see my reply to the 'Speedster Colour Question' you posted.
I went to the Glasurit site and I found 2 red colours that were used in 57:
- Ruby Red - colour code #5702 (57-59);
- Signal Red - colour code #601 (54-63).
I don't know if there were any more red colours but I tried a few random codes between 5701 and 5720 and didn't find any 'rot' (red in german, I guess) descriptions there.
The mix you need with Glasurit paints is in the pdf files I saved on the Files section - Speedster Portugal.
I don't know if there is any equivalent site for american paints, so I can only try to help you with this brand.
Please tell me when you don't need the pdf files anymore, so that I can remove them from the Files section.
I'm not an expert in these matters, so please try to gather additional information to make sure you're doing the right thing. Good luck. Regards.
