You will want the rubber insert even if it is $20. Hope this helps.
PS. Avoid any offered on Ebay. That dealer is in Mexico and is unreliable.
I can make those if you guys want one without the rubber insert... and GT style dimpled lightening holes... if you're interested I would just need a list of people interested and a dead pedal to mock up for the measurements and angles. If you have one and send it to me, we will send it back along with a free lighting hole one. We could make them out of aluminum.
Just a thought...
.....or if your handy, make up a card board template, bend up some sheet metal trimming a VW gas pedal rubber pad to fit.
