PS: I heard once that the term "Speedster" is not copyright-able, as it refers to a body style (like "coupe").  Many companies have made and marketed models they call "Speedsters". So Porsche has a problem w/ limiting access to the term "Speedster"  But of course if it says "Porsche", then there it is.  They have the rights.  and to make it even more interesting, I believe they did copyright the font used to make their insignia.  You cannot just use the font, if you can even find it available.  So "speedster" may not be proprietary, but if you use the very recognizable Porsche copyrighted font to make something that says "Speedster" and sell for profit, they are going to have a way to get you.

Or so I was told once . . .

... and technically, the builders are not allowed to put the official insignia on their cars and then sell them, even though they pay the royalty when they acquire them.  However, if you buy the insignia (and pay the fee built into the price), then as the private owner of said insignia, not re-selling for a profit, you can put said insignia on whatever you want.  The builders then buy the insignia for you, and you put it on your car -- or you ask someone w/ the proper skills to do it for you -- like the builder.  Isn't life grand when the lawyers get a hold of something?

That's a good one Ray! and part of it. What I was referring to was being in a friend's shop in the mid-late '70's and him saying that they had to wait 6 weeks for tune up parts to come from Italy for a Ferrari they were working on; at least Porsche parts were warehoused in North America and available much quicker.

Phil;

If you aren't in a rush, you can cherry pick these items from the usual vendors when they go on discount, every now and then.

Also, there are a few Porsche dealers, selling items on EBay.

I'd search; Sierra Madre Collection; Special Edition, Beck; Klasse356; Vintage Speedsters; Stoddard; and EBay.

These are all US based companies, but shipping small light weight items as these to the UK, shouldn't be a problem.

To answer your question, there is not one supplier that is least expensive on the entire range of scripts.
