CMC/Fiberfab/early IM's

They'd be good starting point for someone. It's hard for me to tell what makes the latter one worth 5k more than the other.  The Key Largo car needs to have it's engine compartment sealed before it roaches that motor. Yowza!

Hopefully someone makes them a reasonable offer. I'd love to see more happy speedster owners.

This made me laugh out loud. You drive a replica.
There is nothing pure about these cars.
/facepalm.
Great deal for someone.

I can't afford a real one so I try to make mine as close as possible to the original. Personally I like period correct and if I can get away with a few upgrades under the hood or better braking and handling I'll opt for that. Overall when you look at my car you have to look pretty close to see that it is a replica.

Look at it this way........The Replica is what they would've built back then if they could have, i.e. better materials (no rust), more power, better brakes, better performance, handling, weather equipment, etc.  Sounds like a win-win!  Keep the period looks, and improve the rest!

Mubjim hit the nail on the head. Plus, if I had a salary that would afford a $200,000 original, I still wouldn't buy it. A nice sailboat to escape on, yes. Plus you can get another injection to pump the fakes up once age and gravity sets in. It's all how you look at it.

I haven't put original parts on but I have grabbed the good Hella etc. electrical where possible. Have the original lenses (EBay) and tail lights that were in the package from 60 something.
