It looks like Don has changed his mind on the date and moved it up to the last weekend of this month - that would be Friday the 26th through Sunday the 28th.  That may be too soon for any of y'all.  Let me know ASAP if you're in.  It looks like we'll be staying in Maggie Valley and touring The Rattler.  We may be going to the Wheels Through Time museum as well.  Given the temps this time of year - at least between here and the mountains - I'll probably be in the BMW.

A meet later in the fall is still a possibility, but I have no plans at present.

Hopefully the weather dries up some before then. It's been raining here somewhere every single afternoon, and it's been those unpredictable gulley washer type rains. Looking at them on the radar, you see a green dot appear outta nowhere grow into a red blob, raise hell with thunder and lightning, then just fade away just as another forms behind it to take it's place. I hear thunder as I'm typing this.

If the weather is clear, I'll head up and over the Parkway on 276 and meet youz guys.

With the gathering being changed to late August from late October we will not be able to make it.  The engine for our Speedster is to be installed late this week and it will take a while to be sure everything has been properly sorted out - which means the car probable won't get to us until after the first of September so hopefully we will see you at Carlisle next year.

Does Don know that the August date will kill this event?  Can't we still plan an Oct Smokies event?

Don's event is mainly for us Charleston folks but he was happy for me to invite some of my Speedster friends.  There are quite s few of us planning to go.  His schedule is full until late October after our next track day.  I'll have to see if I can fit another one in.  Maybe I can look at this as a scouting run.

If anyone is going to join us for this, please IM me.  I can forward hotel info if needed or just arrange a meeting place.
