Pouring gas out!!!!!

Hey anyone have any problems with thier gas tank vent. Mine is spewing gas out and into the right front fender well when I make left turns. I was thinking of some sort of a one way valve. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

Go to your local motorcycle accessory store. They sell a 1/4" in line check valve which I've used successfully on Spyders and SPeedsters

Adding a loop just above the filler neck and extending the hose (along the heating duct) back to the right rear wheel well solved my gas fume problems.
The check valve caused tank pressurization in hot weather which caused slight fuel leaks at the gauge sending unit. Now the tank can breathe in and out with no leaks and if there is any "full tank" odor, it is well behind me.

Cheap , quick fix. Strip insulation off appropriate size electrical
wire. Push it into vent hole, leaving a smaller sized vent hole. Still vents ,won't leak nearly as much, won't cost anything. You can even put a smaller piece of insulation inside the first piece if nec., but make sure it still vents. Tom

The in line one way valves are available on any automotive "Help Rack"

Ernie's solution is the cheapest and best resolution. Worked for me. I ended up chucking the check-valve and just going with the loop. It solved the over-spill and fume issues.

Another trick to getting rid of interior gas fumes is to run the vent line all the way down past the floorpan and exhaust it below the level of the floorpan. It works.
