Pre '67 VW steering column assembly

I'm looking for a nice pre '67 steering column assembly for my speedster. I occasionally see some stuff listed on thesamba and ebay is serviceable, but really needs to be cleaned up; cracked steering wheels, questionable turn signal switches, etc.. Does anyone make a good knockoff of say a '57 column? Does anyone restore old core VW assemblies? TIA

Is the '67 a locking column??? It might be nice to have a locking one!

In the January 2010 Hot VWs' magazine there is an article about a VW dismantler in Southern California. Things dont get so rusty here:
