Met up with Angela and Steve at the Cars & Coffee meet yesterday! As usual there were some insane cars there (besides the usual showing of Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Maseratis, Ford GTs, Carrera GTs, yaddi yaddi yatta...).

As expected, when that Bad-A$$ Spyder drove in and parked, there was an immediate crowd around the car. I'll post a link to pictures when they are posted on the SoCal Car Culture website.

The best part was when Chip Foose (of Overhauling) sees the crowd, came over to check out the commotion and complimented Steve on the great job he & Angela did on the Spyder! That's like Michelangelo saying "Nice painting!".

Angela, Steve, glad you drove down for a short visit before heading out to Knott's.

Later!

Actually we both think Foose is terrific - its Coddington that makes me want to spin my head around backward and projectile vomit!

Foose turned out to be as nice and easy going in real life as he is on the Overhaulin' series. Genuine from the ground up car guy. He brought a couple of his own cars - absolutely stunning! Steve was so excited that he called his family and left them all messages "guess who I just talked to!!!_ I did take pics, in fact probably shot 100 pictures at Cars and Coffee... Problem is that I sent the adaptor cable for my camera home with Steve along with most of my clothes. (Steve flew in and flew home today).

Turns out I'll be down here another day. Guess I'll just have to go shopping again!

Cory my speedstah brother, you would have LOST YOUR MIND at Cars and Coffee... Everything that Jim said it would be. Unbelievable!

I guess I missed a good one. I spent a long while on the computer Friday night and never did find any map or address for that place. Found several videos of prior weeks events, but no map. Buggers. I think I drove right past there about 7:30 on Saturday going to Knott's.

Planning for next year - where the H__l is it?
David -

The Cars & Coffee meet is EVERY Saturday morning rain or shine 07:00-09:00am. The lot (400 spaces) is usually near capacity by 07:00 so come early for a good spot.

As you're heading north and approach the 404Fwy/5Fwy junction (the 'Y');

* Take the Alton exit
* Turn left onto Alton (going back over the 5 Fwy)
* Turn right onto Gateway (3rd traffic signal)
* Just past Ford building enter driveway marked as "Exhibitor Entry"

Your Speedy would definitely draw a crowd. Let me know if you decide to go and I'll meet you there!
Thanks Jim. Lezzee now . . . starts at 7:00 a.m. 1 1/2 hour drive to the split, leave house at 5:30 a.m. Get up at . . . Oh my gawd, that's three hours of driving for a two hour car show! I'm too old to be this young. Ummm . . . . yeah, next year before Knott's sounds just about right. Bye Jim, I'm goin back to sleep now.
