But, it's worth it, because it's a restored Intermeccanica, not a rusty old one.
Am I missing something here!?!?
Heck of a rear fog brake light. Might be a $40k car but not a $75k much less a $135k even in a fully recovered boom economy.
Did you notice the appraisal says "Blankenship Dr., Houston Tx."? Funny.

Same thing I am, Frank....
You know what Al, the new strategy must be to "raise the price to promote an air of exclusivity when the item doesn't sell at a 'lower' price". Best I can figure.
You can always ask, if you aren't afraid of the answer...
poor marketing approach at best but who knows it may work for them.
If the guy really is is a professional restorer the cars is worth more than 40k but it's a far cry from 75k. New big engine IM with those options will run 65K plus. High forties if the car was done right. Good one Bob!
Who ever that appraiser is, he should be fired!
Well anyone who has tried to get a title in Massachusetts knows that the title alone is worth $75K.
Wow! Take a look at the mounting of the luggage rack.
The "appraiser" really is lost.

"Mr. Insurance Man, meet my brother-in-law, Ted the classic-car appraiser. Ted, meet Mr. Insurance Guy.
Now, if I was to experience a fire, say an engine fire (for the sake of illustration)... what would be a reasonable amount to expect, given my appraised evaluation, and my recent (unsuccessful) bid to sell at the stated value?"
Hey now, "Ted" is just getting his feet wet give him a chance
I don't understand why that luggage rack is bolted 'through' the engine lid using the two grill spacing posts when it has the ignored single grille spacing attachment holes
an asking price of 135k will make the 75k price look better.
hey, it might work.
For that price and it has rear drums? What about 5 wides? Authentic headrests no less. I hope he gets it!
Low 40's
I'll sell my real one for $135K...
With an honest-to-speedster commanding upwards of six figures, this one's a steal at er... six figures.
Low $40s at best. Maybe the seller was working in the garage with engine running and garage doors closed just prior to his placing the ad.
Ed- Just so you know- Real Speedsters aren't in the upwards of 6 figures range, they're past the threshold and well into the middle of it. Wasn't there a thread on here a little while ago (2? 3? 4? months) about a pushrod engine'd car selling for $290-something,000 at auction? It was a very nicely restored car, mind you, but almost 300 grand for a 75hp Speedster? $100,000 probably only buys a ratty "driver" (if there is such a thing these days). I think it was here recently that someone said the vin alone is worth 40 or $50,000, and with all the reproduction sheet metal available now you could just about build around it. And a factory 4cam speedster with it's by the numbers engine? The engine alone is worth $200,000, so with it's matching car (and all the 4cam specific stuff it came with) a nice example has to go for well over a half, or even 3/4 mil. And if it has any kind of documented racing history it will sell for more. Any one know what the most recent nice 4cam Speedster sold for?
My apologies for the rant, but the world truly has gone nuts. Cars are meant to be driven, and I think its' sacreligous(sp?) when (for whatever "reason") they're relegated to the garage, trailer and show field. And now 911's are going the same way. Ooooh, stop now I better...
Somebody better grab it before the price goes up again.

Nope. You blinked, and they rounded the bend as well. I challenge anybody to find a clean, rust-free long-hood for less than $75K. Targas don't count.
I love my fancy overpriced dune-buggy more every day.
Watching - watching.. If it sells I will ship my car next day.
And will be reasonable asking $130,000 as its also a ground up rebuild.
Thought outlaws" was the name given to cars....
