Hi Guys
Just want to let you know we are just as crazy about speedsters in South Africa as the rest of you. I just bought a bargain in pretty good condition for R45000-00 (About US$6500). It was factory built about 2 years ago and has only 2000kms on the clock. I checked the brakes and found they were new, the motor has been re-built (still leaks oil!) Ihave however ordered a disk brake conversionfor front and back which willcost about US$1000.

Hi Greg,

I'm in Australia, purchaces a Venom Speester kit out of Joe Burg,,,, then they went broke, i see there up and running again, but getting parts from them... well i get them from the US now, been thinking about buying another kit from Brazil.... does anyone have any thoughts on who offers the best product / value

Regards Bill
Just to let you know how things are coming along with my black speedster. Most of the parts for the disk brake conversion have arrived. I took one look at the front disks and decided they were too small. I have a nice set of 305mm disks on order. A local engineering firm is making up custom "top hats" for the disks so that the caliper stays in line with the mounting brackets. I am using a 53mm piston caliper sourced from a BMW for the front. The rears are from a MK2 golf with cables for the hand brake. I am having my own design brackets water jet cut from aly.

The standard brakes are getting better!! I think the previuos owner never drove the car! The speedo claimed 1900kms when I bought it! this could be accurate as the brakes are now bedding in a bit.

I will keep you informed and sort out some pic's as well.

I also binned the classic looking sets and fitted a set of reclinable racing seats, I found the classic seats were far to uncomfortable ( I am 6'6" tall!)
