After about 1 year of on and off work (on during the warmer days, and off during our cold New England winters), I am finally getting ready to put the body onto the pan. Just a few more details and I should have it running. The plan is for our fall foliage season. The pan, suspension, and motor have all been prepped and are ready for the body. I have since installed the windshield and the dash upholstery. Overall I am pretty please with the result considering it was done by an insurance company desk jockey with no training. Hopefully I will have some pictures of the finished product in a couple of weeks.
I have attached a "before" and "after" picture. It wasn't pretty when I first hauled it home!

Tonight was a GOOD night! I have been trying to get some help mating the body of my car to the pan, and have been very unsuccessful. Having 3 brother-in-laws with 1/2 hour of me sounds like it might make it easy, but with kids, soccer games, and hockey practices, trying to find a time when all three of them could get here was seeming to be impossible. So tonight I took four starps and ran them inside the car. The first two were hooked into the heater openings in the front of the frame, while the second two were attached to the rear mounting points of the frame. I strung two more straps from a rafter truss above the garage door and hooked up a one ton chain hoist that I have. The plan was to see if I could lift the car up a little and have two brother-in-laws stabilize it while I lowered it onto the pan. Well after several strap adjustments I was able to pretty much balance the body in the air with just a central lifting pointinside the car. Once I started it seemed so balanced I grabbed my 9 year old son who pulled the body dolly out and rolled the pan under the car. Slowly I lowered the body right down onto the chassis! Fits like a glove! I had forgotten how low these cars are. It appears that the overall ride height is right where is should be, or maybe even a little low in the front, but I have some avis adjusters up there that are set all the way down so I can crank them up. Time to start hooking things up and getting this car on the road. I have downloaded a few extra pictures in my file showing the car when I cut it up, with the new fender on, and the body and parts on their own paint carts. I also threw in a couple of other cars I have worked on in the past. Should have some new pictures of a more finished car very soon. Thanks to all for letting me spout! I am just so psyched right now!

Well it is done...well almost. Need to replace the link pins, install the wiper arms, and then the gas cap. Took it out for a few short drives and it handles really well. Adjusted the tire pressure down from 32 psi to 24 front and 28 rear and it made an incredible difference in the ride. The right front wheel seems to have a little play in it so I have decided to replace the link pins. King pins appear fine. Was having a problem with the idling and tried several fixes including intake gaskets, idle jet, and idle cutoff all with no success. Late in the evening I notice a pretty healthy fuel leak through the lower section of the carb so I replaced it with a new carb. Runs like a dream now.
As soon as I get that gas cap I will take it out for a much longer shake down cruise.
