Engine turning the el'cheapo way ....

Use a Scotch Brite pad as the turning pad, first cut a short piece of 1/4"- 3/8" steel fuel line 4" long , then holding one end to a grinding wheel, sharpen the edge so it can be used as a cutting punch to cut out small round "dots" of Scotch Brite. Super glue them onto short pieces of wood dowel or bolt head , mark out the surface you want to work with a very light pencil lines then, use WD 40 as lubricant turn the Scotch Bright pad at a slow speed in a cordless drill or drill press .....this works well!
