Bought an older pan based IM back in June that has very solid bones so to speak...I went through the car... it needed quite a number of upgrades i.e mechanical, safety and cosmetic issues.

1915 motor needed to be re-borne, replaced the clutch, rebuild carbs, new alternator, battery, dizzy, wires plugs air cleaner assemblies, etc. Chassis had recent new front suspension ad disc brakes with new drum rear brakes, replaced cables, refinished all scripts etc. Also new beehive front lights, rear tail lights, license light, door handles, horn grills, belt line trim, seat belts, mirrors, weather stripping,  etc. repainted urethane Guards Red.

If all goes as planned it should run and drive on the weekend and pics and eBay auction ad soon.

Well yeah, in a perfect world....

Got the mechanicals buttoned up or so i thought,

Cranked the motor over to confirm oil pressure and it cranked way too slow for my liking.  Checked battery volts, main ground etc and all was fine. Then I noticed aluminum shavings in the tin under the aluminum degree pulley ..seems the good Doctor forgot to add the pulley crankshaft spacer behind the degree pulley it rubbed hard against the case hence the "slow crank" (no pun) pulled the pulley off the motor and it fired right up then discovered a good gas leak at the carb intake tee fitting (cracked tee) .  Parts here on Tuesday so, we finished buffing out the Guards Red paint.

Tomorrow it's belt line trim, scripts, seat belts, shifter and reinstall the top.
