#41 is in house, inventoried and a plan is in place.....I did the hood hinges latch and deck lid, hogged out the headlight buckets. $$$ of parts ordered and in transit iEd Cars 6 13 16 004Ed Cars 6 13 16 005n brown trucks, motor and 3:88 trans are getting rebuilt too. Paint shop appointment in 11 days .

Well, that's about how long it takes CMC fiberglass to cure anyway, isn't it?

What's with the red underneath and white on the surface?  I think if I were to flip mine over, everything was caramel brown underneath.  

You must have found one of those rare, "It's RED Tuesday" cars.

And only "Doc. Clock" would have a trailer specifically for hauling speedster bodies about.

Gaps are great and I just did the Butt Sag fix and a 2" flat steel diagonal brace as a precaution.

$300 car dolly, stretched, framed and decked speedster specific trailer weights just 830 lbs. ....total invested including new wheels LED's, hand winch and tires $1,000.

" Red " is the metal primer on the tube frame.

That flared was sitting in a Tennessee garage since 2004 in flat white gel coat.

Scratch built w/a car dolly donor....Yes Syl bought a custom T trailer from me years back.... I have a source here in Pa that can do an all steel deck 7.5 x12 ' single axle at about $1,800 light and durable, can be made with removable left fender.

Hood hinges, latch & cable done, deck lid hinged waiting on the 12v actuator for "power lift".  Doors aligned, latches done and butt sag bracing completed. Seats and door top rails went to the shop for assembly.                                                               Tomorrow AM.... dropping off a donor motor for rebuilding, picking up rebuilt adjustable axle beam, rebuilt and lowered rear torsion section. Rebuilt 3:88 trans, steering column, shocks, new axles, 4 wheel disc kits, lines, hoses etc.....and a large order of misc. All from " Jack" @ Bugg Stuff Inc.  West Brownsville PA .  I've been buying from them for 26 years. Best personal customer service and pricing around.            Yeah, I'm retired' but it's crunch time as I have just one week until paint appointment... a light beige to go with the medium brown interior with a chocolate brown top.                                                               

Spent the better part of today persuading a Reman spindle to spindle axle beam to fit the Street Beasts professionally engineered tube frame head, an in depth lesson in geometry.  "No fire wrench was used in this action"                                                   Decided on a paint color : 2016 Kia Cloud white ( light cream ) and will delete the metallic, it should go well with the medium brown interior. Not sure if I'll go with a tan or chocolate brown top but I'll use Ridler's custom 8 x 15 polished aluminum wheels, same as I did in the last two builds.

Kia Cloud White is not going to happen because I wanted it w/o metallic and were concerned that the light cream shade would be too far off, so plan "B" is in place .....2010 Porsche 51A cream white.                                                                                            Wrestled with the VW stock rear torsion that gets bedded to the Street Beats tube frame ,the design is good but who ever welded their mounting cradle and plate failed to take into consideration that you need to support a 5/16" steel plate when welding it horizontal so it was at a 15 degree angle from even and would not allow the VW torsion set up to fit correctly, time and persuasion and that worked out.  I will say that the design was well thought out and the fiberglass and door gaps are good....I enjoy the challenge of fabrication and making things right.  However, I 'm sorta glad Street Beats is out of business so no one has to endure this.  Followed by a stub axle that had someone had  bashed the first 4 threads with the all purpose hammer and then it looked like they figured let's hammer it on and see what happens ...Fail !   A trip to my friend's machine shop turned the axle slowly on a lathe as we used a cross file to straighten out the threads........                                             This evening, it's off the lift wheels are on, shop is cleaned up,,,, it's a roller read to go the body shop on Friday.        Photos after paint.
