Project 47's rotors are in "Never Never Land" it took the supplier 8 days just to box and ship them out but should, be here Tuesday along with the new top, & metal bow set. Engine is back together with new shroud, sheet metal alternator , lines, filters and hoses.... it fired right up. I sourced a chrome 15" motor cycle muffler to go with the existing 4 into one header. Finished the wiring this AM that included some fun filled under dash time . Re-installed the windshield assembly this afternoon w/ wipers on and minor this & that completed. Still have 65 hours or so to go on this project , should be done by Labor Day. Still have to do the rotors, wheels and tires, carpet, seats, belts, top, custom side curtains, door panels, spare tire mount, mirrors, engine to body tins and final test and tune w/ detailing to do. Taking the next week for vacation nearby in Bowden, WV mountains . We have a new 38' camper loaned to us for a week.
Project 47 update: After six days of rain even in a new travel trailer not the best West Virginia camping experience , it was interesting to keep an eye on the ever rising camp side river. today I replace the IRS rear bearings and wheel bearings, four new Chevy bolt pattern rotors and wheel studs and other mics. Another 2 -3 weeks and it should be about done.

Looks really nice. I wonder if Bill is wondering how to get the car back? LOL
That's Blackie? Wow!!! The paint looks great.
What's Bill doing now that he's Speedsterless?
Bill replaced Blackie with a very nice triple white 79 rag top Beetle !
Yeah, I know he bought a Vert Bug. But he HAS to have a tiny bit of remorse.
"The Traveling Brake Pads" …... Thursday pm I ordered a set of rear disc brake pads from a supplier 180 miles from me in PA. I always get my parts from that supplier in two days. However the USPS has decided that they needed to go to Philly first then turn a 180 and travel west back through the entire state of PA continuing west though Maryland and into West Virginia where tonight they pass within a half hour from my WV home and continue another 135 miles further south to Charleston WV. Tomorrow - Sunday they will depart Charleston VW ( again doing a 180) heading back north the previously mentioned 135 miles and get dropped at the local Post Office here for a Monday delivery … Or so the USPS Pixie Dust Fairy claims ~~~~~
