I just rebuilt a motor that came in a intermeccanica speedster.I am a 356 owner and restorer.
The motor was frozen with water damage. It has a 78m.m. stroker crank and 90.5 m.m.
pistons. The heads are ported with big valves. The motor had 88m.m pistons when I found
it but I was unable to find a new set.I bored it to accept the larger pistons and rebuilt the bottom end. When I started it up it seems to stumble and pop when I blip the throttle.
I replaced one weber and rebuilt the other.I was wondering if anyone has some info about
rejetting or some other fix.Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

There isn't that much difference between 88 and 90.5 at least enough to make it idle the way you're describing. Adjust the carburetors with a vacuum "snail" then adjust mixture screws and the linkage to ensure that both are opening correctly. Once it's running and doesn't stumble then you can play with the jets.

Where do you live as many members would volunteer their help in getting the engine running correctly.
