They are frequently seen on original Porsche cars from the late 50's (I had a 1959 Convertible D that had them)& act with bumper guards to protect the body. The front one additionally serves as a hanging source for the license plate. Does anyone know if these are available & if so, source & can they be used w/reproduction cars?
Thanks

They are a costly option at IM and available from JPS - and appear to be not a bolt-on addition. You can buy chrome benable tubing from a marine store that is used for bow pulpit and such on boats. Old VW bugs and Ghias have a similiar set of over-ridders. Bolted to the flimsy fibergass bumpers they would be more for scaring off parking lot mishaps than real protection. I keep a very rusty trailer hitch bar on the back of my 4Runner --- other than the occasional bruise on the knee its an effective deterrent.

Do a search on "overriders" for a bunch of hits
