I have a 2000 Vintage Speedster with a 1600DP engine, that has what appears to be a stock VW pulley.  A picture is attached.

The pulley has a first notch in the front and rear of the pulley that I've been using as TDC and painted white, then has only a second notch at the rear of the pulley at about 15 degrees BTDC.  The white mark furthest to the right in the picture is one I painted that is 30 degrees BTDC.  The diameter of the pulley is 6-7/8in.

I've had some challenges since installing my dual Kadrons getting my Pertronix SVDA distributor to preform correctly (and give a total advance mechanical and vacuum of what I was getting with my 34PICT3 carb), and am not wondering whether mayby what I am thinking is the TDC mark on this pulley (based on the paired front and rear notches) really isn't as the engine seems to like alot of advance at idle.

Any input or assistance would be appreciated.  Thanks, Grant
