Quality Gaskets

So my local vendor's gaskets seem to be lacking in the quality for exhaust and manifold gaskets. The metal crush gaskets are flimsy and the gaskets between carb manifolds and heads have such a slim partition between ports.

Any vendors carrying better quality-thickness? Oh--please be impartial to CIP/CB/SoCal etc---they all carry various levels of items

When I pulled the carbs the outer side of one head/manifold metal gasket was never crushed thus never sealed--not sure how long that was like that because its how it came. I check the manifold for warp--looks good.

How about some ideas, things I should check etc.
