I have a quarter tonneau I made. I am thinking of adding straps on the underside like VS quarter tonneaus.

If you have the straps do you find them useful?

Can anyone show me a picture of the underside of their quarter tonneau and measure the length of the straps?

Thanks.

I have two straps exactly 18" long. I have to admit I need instructions on how to properly stow the top again once down. If the straps were shorter they'd be great for holding the top up high and tight off of the shelf. I'll search but any pics of a properly stored top? I want the window to look brand new as long as possible as it is nearly perfect right now.
I didn't realize they are intended to hold the side curtains. I thought they are used to hold the top up.

I am installing a big speaker in a picture frame on the back tub wall. It has sharp corners and I thought it might be nice to hold the top up above the corners.

I also thought the straps would keep the quarter tonneau from flapping.

I guess I will put some kind of protection on the frame corners. It won't look as neat.

Alan, where do you carry side curtains without the straps?

I'm with you Michael, I never heard of them being used to store the side curtains and Kirk never mentioned it when he showed me how to stow the top. Although it sounds like a good idea and would get the curtains out of the trunk if they will fit. I'm going to run out to the garage and give it a try.

I'm back. I left them in the bag and they do fit. They cause the top to be pushed forward a bit and take up a little extra space, but they do fit. That little bit of space is pretty valuable when you need to stow luggage back there for a trip, but for every day use it wouldn't be a problem. Of course in California we rarely need them, so we just leave them in the garage and use our "Cruzin Windows." :-)
