A 6-foot piece of pipe on the bat handle will get you another flat or hole on the cotter pin, but you may sacrifice the 1/2" socket stub in the process.

I have IRS and I get a trifle jiggle on both sides when I test them. Is it 1/8"? I can't say for sure, but they do move just a tiny bit.

I would say that if they're the same on both sides and only move that 1/8" at the tire tread, then they're prob'ly OK.

It also costs $80 plus shipping, whereas my piece of pipe cost me all of $4 bucks at Home Depot - and it's galvanized!

All I did was slide it onto my bat handle, then marked it every inch with a magic marker to show inches from the pivot point, then I weigh myself and figure out how far out along the pipe I have to stand to push down with 312 foot pounds of torque on the nut.

Done.

BTW: After I torqued my hub nuts to 325 this way, I checked them with a mechanic friend's 500 ft lb. torque wrench and he came up with 317 ft. lbs. Not to shabby.
