I'm about to pull the trigger here in a couple weeks, and I want to know if anyone has a photo of a Spyder in green they wouldn't mind sharing. Any pictures of a hard top would be nice, too -- the jury's still out on whether or not that's something I might actually need.
I'm hip to the "traditional colors" idea, but I'm fairly tired of looking at a silver Speedster and thought that Cosmic Green might be a nice color over saddle (or baseball-glove) brown.
Thoughts? Or, if there's any lore on why NOT to go with green on a Spyder, that'd be nice to know, too.

Cory,

I am guessing you already know about this site? http://users.tellurian.net/robert/spyder/index.htm

If not, you need it. If you already have it, so be it.

To your question, I have seen at one time or another a dark green (English racing green) photo of a very early 550. I can't find it any place today.... that is the only old 550 on green I have seen. Certainly not a common color for a 550, but why not? So many are silver and some way or another I suspect you don't want yours to be confused with the next car down the block?

Cory,
I've attached a picture of my Spyder with the hardtop in place. I can't help you with the green color, though.
I wish I had known you were in St. Louis earlier: I would have been happy to show you my Speedster and Spyder! I should have checked your postings sooner.

Cory,
See my prototype website http://prospydercars.com/ and click on "Photos" for a clearer picture of the hardtop. I have not installed side curtains since I am selling my Spyder and don't want to drill mounting holes for them into the door in the event the buyer doesn't want the hardtop.
Send me your email adddress if you want me to email larger size pix: prospyder@charter.net

Cory,

I was driving back from Seattle yesterday (in Steve's Jeep)and spotted a GTI VR6 in a rather amazing shade of green. Very "pearl" and nearly irridescent. When you told me about he color, I was kind of like - oh barf. You mentioned a 70's bug color... Got to remember that every 3 VW superbeetle on the west coast is green and that's the color I was picturing.

This color however is very interesting.
