Question on proper installation of M/cylinder rubber plug

Hi guys and gals,
Can someone add some insight as to how to install the rubber filler plug on a new master cylinder? Also , mine has a short section of metal tubing with a flare on it that the resivoir hose connects to. Does the flare go below the plug or do you try and pull it up into the middle of the plug to create a better seal? Thanks in advance...
