Ok, I now have a wheel balancing adapter.  I'm not 100% sure how it gets used. I'll be heading to the tire shop this weekend and would like to make sure I have everything I need.

Will I need to also provide bolts to attach the adapter to the wheel?  The outside (wide) holes are threaded. I'm guessing I should purchase some bolts that fit into this thread and also some washers...

Picture attached.

Thanks, Warren D. Adapter

No washers. You will need 5 studs in that thread size and pitch and 5 nuts that fit them. Or, you can get 5 bolts. Just make sure the nuts and bolts have the round seat that our VW wheels require to seat properly. Also, you must use all 5 bolts or nuts to secure it to the wheel so that it'll balance.

I'd prefer studs and nuts. If some gorilla at the wheel shop messes up the threads of a stud, it can be replaced. Dab some blue lock tight on the studs before installing them into that adapter.

I also prefer taking just the wheels to the wheel shop.

My friend, the fronts are for link-pin beam, so no. There is ZERO track increase, which is good.

The backs have no emergency brake. These are also designed for an 800 pound car.

I'm pretty sure they're north of $3K for all 4, so there's that as well.

I also wonder if they’d even sell them to you if they knew you were planning on using them for a street car. I know my local hose place, Evco, now Eric’s, won’t make hydraulic brake lines because they don’t have liability insurance that covers it.
