We found Vintage Speedsters through Lake Country Motorsports in WI and are considering buying a new speedster reproduction from them. Does anyone have any advice before we take the plunge? It comes with a 1776cc engine which supposedly replaced the 1915cc because of problems with the latter motor. It has all of the available options from VS and is 29k. Is this reasonable?

thanks, Scott

I think that's awfully "dear" for a VS. If you want a VS I would contact them directly and eliminate the middle man unless ownership-angst is eating you up. That way you can pick and choose colors, options, engine build, etc. I would strongly advise against buying a car with an engine that is based on the Mexican hydraulic lifter engine.
Go direct you will save thousands , Kirk is great to work with . I saw the Lake Country Motorsports ad on E-bay as well back in February . I'am lucky I guess as I only
live about an 75min from Kirk and about 30min from JPS. Both are great builders . I visited
John at JPS and picked up some badges for my car. And of course there I met John Leader .

Good Luck
