took a quick ride today to test my GoPro ... realized I had joined youtube years ago .... took almost two hours to download ...is that normal?

The upload time depends on two things:
1) File size
2) You ISP's cap on your upload bit rate
It's a math equation from there.

Every Sunday there is a huge contingent of Harley riders that visit this gas station/ Cafe. Some of the bikes are truly amazing. I try and get my gas there as often as possible just to look at all the bikes and talk to some of the guys.
A couple of things Thom. First, it's good you found that sweet spot for your camera, I've been placing my camera there for a couple of years and it seems to capture the audio nicely, no wind noise but still good engine sound. Second, 2 hours to upload a 90 second video to You tube seems way out of line. I can get 10 minute videos to load much quicker than that. I don't have an answer, but sounds way too long.
Tom - based on my experience posting on You Tube, that 90 second video should have taken 7-8 minutes at most. I'm thinking like Ted that long upload may be a cap/limit on your ISP upload rate. Next time you upload, check the options on upload specifications. Fun video, car sounds great!

ISP, heavy internet traffic local to you or into YouTube. I've had much better luck with Vimeo.
Just got a Hero 3 and getting oriented to it. Can't wait to get the car reassembled and have some fun.
