Anyone using this on a pan based?
Replies sorted oldest to newest
On my pan-based car, I am using the 3500. It seems like the 7000 would be way too big.
3500# here too - for pan based and Mazda Miata. As weight goes up so does the bed that goes under chassis - between wheels. There is a 5000# one that might fit???
3500# for me, too. Looked at the 7000# for my son's Porsche 996 and it should fit that, but it's a tad too long for my pan based Speedster.
I don't think the 5000 will fit between the wheels either. Maybe the dimensions can be found on their website. Some use the 5000 going from one side to the other.
The 7000 SLX is 70" long, according to the Quickjack website. The 3500 SLX is 62.5".
The other factor is 96 pounds versus 60 for the smaller one.
The 3500 is the older model and I have that one as well and it works good but I don't have a Pan car.
Thanks guys.
I've used my 3500# Quickjack to lift both my Nissan Rogue and Kathy's Subaru Outback. Elevated both with ease, but I made sure I got jack stands under there before I started doing anything. I would use jack stands even if I had the heavier QJ versions, but that's just safety-minded me. Really nice for rotating tires and stuff.
I have been trusting the locks on the QuickJack. Maybe I should start using jack stands too.
It's nice that I can push them to the center of the car for storage and drive over them.
I bought a small dolly from Harbor Freight and put a piece of plywood on it. Then I mounted the QuickJack pump on that.

Both cars have to be a good bit over 3500#. Any problems with lifting?
I know they test them at twice the weigh but that does not mean you should .
The Rogue is right around 3500 pounds, the Outback is maybe 500 pounds tops over depending on year.
Gordon is nowhere near twice the weight. Now, if he tried to lift a pickup or large SUV, he should have his head examined.
Just don't use the Harbor Freight recalled jack stands -
3-Ton and/or 6-Ton Heavy Duty Steel Jack Stands, item numbers 56371, 61196, and 61197
Here's published complete list -
There are many reasons why I might have my head examined - Besides car related!
I checked the spec sticker inside of the driver's door before lifting either of them and they were both under 3500# on gross weight so I was fine.
No problem lifting either of them - they go up just as fast as the Speedster.
Do these jacks lift the car high enough o drop the motor any pull it out?
No they do not.

My doc ordered a brain MRI for me recently because I developed tremors in my hands (try rewiring a car when your hands like to shift things right before you crimp).
I'm happy to say I have a current letter from a neurologist saying my brain is just fine contrary to what some people have always said.
I'm going to have to blame my misadventures on judgement, I guess.

They're photoshopped LOL! Sorry, buddy!
The first question I asked the Doc after a CAT scan on my sinuses, years ago, was:
"Did'ja find any Cats?"
I figured if they did, the sinus congestion might be explained by hairballs.
Or Sumthin.......
