There's going to be a raffle at the Speedster Meet in Carlisle.

We're looking for donations to the cause. Do you have any old Speedster parts lying around the garage? How about an interesting Speedster book? A bottle of wine? A Speedster t-shirt or two? Golf balls? Maybe a nice grille badge? A nice set of wide-fives, a newly-modified T-1 or custom tube frame?

Bill Drayer is starting us off with not one but TWO sets of 356 reflectors! I've also heard some rumblings from Gordon Nichols. I'll have to dig around the house and see what I can find.

We'll hold the drawings Saturday afternoon (time to be determined) at the hospitality tent so folks who decide to head home Saturday evening or early Sunday morning won't miss out.

Only 20 more days!!! Okay, whatcha got?

Bruce, For the raffle, I would like to offer a DVD put together by a member of the 356 Registry entitled "KTF 356, The Old Porsche DVD".
It is a collection of Period Racing Footage of the 1960's.
as well as footage of the 1963 PCA Parade, Sebring, Euro Racing and some clips from USA Porsche Dealerships and Tourist Delivery of that era and more.

Cool stuff for the Historian !
OK, when I left the last house (where Chris is now living) and moved here to the micro state, I jettisoned, literally, three TONS of stuff and some of that was "useless" or surplus kit build stuff. Whatever I have left ain't worth much to anybody.

So........for the raffle, I'll put up one bottle each of Sakonnet Vinyards Wine (It's all International Award Winning stuff and made right down the street from me). One each: "Eye of the Storm", Fume Vidal (won best in show at the 2003 Tokyo wine Festival) and Gewurztraminer (Which just won best of show at the recent Monterey Wine Festival).

No, none of them have a Speedster on the label, but they're all REALLY GOOD WINE!

Maybe I can get Chris to kick in a 4-pack of Murphy's Irish Stout as the contribution from "Five Cent Racing (Eclipse Division)"!

Gordon

P.S. How about we have some interesting East Coast SOC awards, like: "Coolest accessory, Best use of color, East Coast Spirit Award, Best Exhaust Note, Best Use of Trunk Space, Best Hawaiian Shirt, the "Limped-in-anyway" award, the "Old Timers Award" for our oldest attendee, the "Whippersnapper Award" for the Youngest Attendee, the "Wicked-Coolest-Car-in-the-whole-damn-show" award, or some others like that.

Any other ideas out there?
A few people have sent emails to me asking about the raffle. No need to send anything in advance. Just bring your "stuff" to the hospitality tent on Friday or Saturday so everyone can see what's up for grabs. We'll plan the drawing for Saturday afternoon so people who drive in only for the day don't miss out.

Hey Gordon, the wine sounds great!

Speaking of which, anybody want an original VW motor out of Gordon's donor VW Bug? It's in the corner of the garage just hanging out. I'll be more than happy to bring that to Carlisle to "raffle off" (read: "give away so you can clutter up your garage instead").

Jerome:

Regarding "evidence", I'm officialy pleading the Fifth as of today and not even waiting for the 21st or the videos. It's going to be difficult wearing a mask and sunglasses all weekend :>)

Gordon/Chris:

If you guys want to lug that engine to Carlisle we'll raffle that baby. I'm not sure who is going to want to stow it in the rear seat of their Speedster to cart it home but the guys who are trailering might be interested. Of course if no one wants it you have to agree to truck it back home. LOL
