I fired mine up and took a top down ride today since early afternoon temps here in NVA I think hit 38!   I did about a half hour ride made it back well before the sleet/rain started.

Nice stuff Jim.  Thanks for sharing.  Go-Pro is changing the way we collect memories.  Got a bunch of great motorcycle footage from back in the day.  My favorite is a clip of me on a Ducati 916 tearing up Deals Gap to Dave Matthews #41.  

The no hand gear changes along the bluffs were making me a bit nervous but you probably have more seat time than anyone on this site.  

Woke up to 6 inches of wet snow, It's cold, overcast, ice rain and the speedster is under wraps. Isn't Envy one of the most deadly sins !! Great video

Thanks for posting that feel good video of your trip with Ginny. Wish we where even a little close to weather half as nice out here. Admittedly its been an easy winter so far still not good road conditions for the speedy.  But we are making the most of what we have.

I don't know who has more fun in this Video;   Ginny, certainly, to be out at such an awesome area with her sweetie, Jim for making and editing the video and putting it all together (it's actually a lot of fun), or the rest of us for enjoying it from our warm family rooms with all of the cold and yucky snow outside.

I guess Sally and I just missed you and Ginny.  We are in Pismo this weekend and it's supposed to be 73 degrees today.  Here is the view from our room at the Kon Tiki.

Thanks, my pineapple headed brother, for reminding us on the other edge of the Continent that Summer will get here eventually. We have an inch of slush on everything and an ice cold rain right now but I haven't had to fire up the snowblower yet this year. Last week the Bay was frozen for about 2 miles toward the horizon and you could see Grey Seals out on the edge of the ice. They come here to give birth to their pups, eat all the fish, and generally be a PIA.  Hope to see you and your sweet young bride at Carlisle this year.

 

PS  Nice looking oysters....I know a good one when I see it.

It was blue skys and seventy degrees but i missed most of it with a boken accelerator cable.

It snapped off at the s curve attachment at the foot peddle   But the good thing it happened in my drive way.  It was a pita but was cursing by late afternoon

On one of our trips, the throttle cable broke 2 inches from the end, at the carb linkage. We were 200 miles from home. Found a piece of shoe-string along the shoulder of the road and made my McGuyver fix as shown below...

 

 

…not only did we make it home, I drove the car like this for a few days until I got a replacement throttle cable. 

Heh heh! Great McGiver there and great video. I used to work for the Automobile Association back in England and one of my colleagues did a similar job on a guy's car with baling wire. Over a year later he gets a call out to the same guy for some other issue and finds his "temporary" fix still doing its job

Note to self:  Add extra shoelaces to the road-fix kit.  

"Wild" Bill Drayer snapped a throttle cable one year on one of the Carlisle Cruises to the Caddy Shack restaurant.  Didn't have to "McGiver" it as he had a spare, and I stopped with him to help.  He had it replaced and we were back on the road in about ten minutes.  Didn't bother to try to catch the group, just headed right to the restaurant bar via a shortcut for some beers.......

That's going to be my next vacation spot!
