Just so some of the recent new owners don't miss out on the "once in a lifetime" offer.  These get mounted on the rear engine grill - they increase top speed by causing an air vortex IAW the Bernoulli Principle increasing both MPG and top speed (at least that what SOC resident rocket scientist El Fazzioo tells me).  Now 7 or 8 on grill will cause overheating in rare cases.

THE RESPONSE TO THIS HAS BEEN OVERWHELMING!!!!

The odd thing is, many of you already had purchased an original.

Best I go double check the count on these, since it looks like it's down to just 2 left.

THANK YOU ALL FOR RESPONDING SO QUICKLY.

Yes Rich, I have one of your painted badges. And I knew my "shtick" wasn't original. I couldn't remember who did it first, though; thanks for reminding me!

How've you been? If you want to talk, pm me. It'd be great to catch up....

Getting back to the business at hand- don't you think an updated LFDY badge would be a great idea for the spring? Man, I wish I could draw...

Yoda asked about having a Speedster background instead of that Pentagram.

Back in 2006, I did a run of 50 of these for the Carlisle Speedstah crowd (although a very few snuck out to the Left Coast).  Just so you can see what might be possible.  I think I removed the starbursts on the production run.  The artwork came from Mike Cochrane in Quebec, hence the Maple leaves.  It originally had 11 colors until I got the quote of $$$$ each, so I dropped that to 4 colors for production.  Mine's held up well.

Marty asked:  "How do you prep bronze for paint?"  Go to NAPA (or a FLAPS with a car paint dept.) and ask for some metal prep solution - it's a chemical etching solution specifically for etching (roughing) metal for paint (I think it's called "Metal Prep").  Be aware, though, that the cloisonné badge right above was color filled with a special epoxy ink and then baked to make the ink cure and become permanent.  Not sure how well regular old paint, like Krylon or something, will last.
