Both motors look really nice, clean installs.

Just lose the curly-Q alternator wire!

Multiple carbs come out of tune because of bad linkage. It is only a short matter of time before those plastic bushings wear out. Heim joints or bearings will give you a no slop/no wear linkage.
Danny---is there a kit for what you are talking about for a better linkage? Thanks!

Marty--I have seen very positive things about the EMPI 44 HPMX carbs. Some builders are having Art Theren go through them before instaling them and they are as good as the Webers. But I sure wouldn't second guess your Webbers ---you are going to enjoy your engine. I would see about a better linkage if it's an improvement over what you have----yours may be as good as it's possible to get too.---Jack

Marty, I would just make it longer and follow the path of the blue idiot-light wire. Either wrap it with good vinyl tape or use some small split-loom. I tried to hide most of the wiring on my engine but admit I took a shortcut with my temp sender wires, they are not pretty!

Jack, a few of us have made a hexbar mod of our own. It started on Spyderclub with a couple of us hacking up our CB Performance linkage. I am not sure exactly how to go about it on the linkage most Speedsters seem to have with the nylon bushings. Do a search on Spyderclub.com for "Bye bye hexbar blues" and a long thread should come up. I can try to help you, email me some closeups of your linkage, as a whole overview, and some closeups of each side from a few angles. Or post it all in a thread on here. I changed mine over 10K miles ago, and haven't had to touch them since!

As far as Weber tuning, no problem Marty. I would be happy to show anyone the bits I know at Carlisle next year. I will add, it would probably be a lot easier to demonstrate on a Spyder, as it is such a PIA to reach the adjustments in a Speedster. Whoever designed that system likes to torture people! I mean, why not turn the carbs around so the adjustments are toward the inside like my Spyder? It especially sucks to pull out an idle jet, ask Kelly(his car), Musbjim, Lenny and Corey how we know that one!
Whatever you buy (Weber, EMPI, etc.)- have Art Thraen set them up. Don't cheap out.

But if you want the absolute level best- call and ask if he's got a set of Dellortos for your engine. They've been out of production for a hundred years now, but the used stuff is perfect as long as you get them completely rebuilt by Art (as you should with new Webers, EMPIs, etc.).

I've got a set of 40s on my 2110, and a set of 48s on my 2332.

I know I sound like a broken record here- but I cannot recommend this enough. Really.
