Says he doesn't like the 911 gauges in #5 the light grey one --- but, of course, they are 914 gauges. First job would be to seal the engine compartment
I thought the article was a poor example of what's available at a decent cost. There have got to be five cars currently for sale that are significantly better than those five in the same price range.
#5 is missing the engine tins, an air cleaner, and the oil breather hose that goes to the air cleaner.
#4 has a 2276 cc with a single carb? It has a/c but most everyone on here says a/c is a waste. I wonder if the fiberglass below the engine grill was cutout to make room for the single carb?
#3 is not a bad car. Looks to be a stock VS built car. I wonder why the engine was just rebuilt and a new clutch installed? But if a reputable place did the work it should last a while.
#2 (link to the ad shows the ad has been deleted) looks to have been a just completed VS built car that was available for the same price as a just finished VS built car but without the wait.
#1 (link to the ad shows the ad expired) looked to be a low mileage (5,000+) car built by VS. The engine looked pretty filthy for such a low mileage car but I thought it looked pretty sharp with the wide white walls.
