First of all Hi everybody. I am a new owner of a 57 beck speedster.

This forum has been very helpful to learn my way around my new toy.

This is my first post, sorry if its a bit long :->

I am reaching to you to try to ID my car. I did all the possible research online and with the builder itself to find the "real" serial number of my car since it was removed by one of the previous owners.  I do have a legal assigned identification number by the state of Washington so I can get plates for it but I still want to know more about this car.

From what I understand on those cars you should have a metal plate between both seat under a cover. The cover is still there but the tag is gone ... You can see the glue marks but it was removed.

The attached pictures were send to beck speedster and I got a very quick and friendly response from M. Carey Hines. From what he thinks this car was one of the first 6 cars built back in 1996. He is still in contact with number 1,2 & 3 so its not those ones but ... this triggered my interest to find which one I have (4,5 or 6).

The earliest traces I could find is that it was auctioned at Barrett Jackson in 2008 : http://www.barrett-jackson.com...CK-RE-CREATION-60600

I wonder if somebody could recognize it or know where it is from. I understand how trivial this request can be for some but ... I like history and not knowing which one this is bugs me a little bit :->

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello, with the advises of M. Carey I did pulled a lot of stuff back there since I had no idea what I was looking for :->

I used my inspection camera in the center hole and under the carpet all the way to the parking brake to find that plate with no luck. see attachments.

Any tips welcomed if I missed something.

Yer an evil man, Bill!

Ok Krusty (what IS your name?), it looks like I lost all of the pictures from the manual when our disk controller crashed a couple of years back.  I know, I know...  As a computer geek I should have had a backup.  We actually did, but the disk controller trashed it as well.  Anyway, on later model Becks there was a strip of metal welded to the top of the tunnel just ahead of the opening where you see the shift rid in your car. That strip has the chassis number on it.  If there isn't one there or a plate up in the trunk just behind the spare tire well then I am afraid I can't help you.  Sorry.

For Bill : i got a fake of a fake ... My head hurt ;-)

For  Lane : my real name is Jean-Claude but in english i go by JC (french canadian from Montreal). Plates were either removed or never installed since this is an early one. Unless sombody recognise the interior & style ... I don't think we can tell for sure which one it is

for TRP : yes it does.

thanks all for helping me through that quest.
