While shopping at a favorite VW supplier, I noticed a nice operational pair of aluminum 356 drums and backing plates with dual cylinders on each wheel!!

This was the real stuff and apparently it bolts right up to the old VW linkpin front end!!

If anyone is after that very expensive, big finned aluminum, real Porsche look and you happen to be running a link pin front end, give Jim a call at Vintage Volkswagen.

I have no idea what this stuff is worth, but more than I can afford.

It is not only the greater frictional surface but due to the larger radius, there is also a greater frictional torque force imposed on the shaft! They work great! Mine are 356B brakes and I opted for these in lieu of the 356A ones due to that I was able to find them easier and in better shape. If you are able to find either in good condition, go for it--the rebuilt seal parts are mostly VW interchangeable! ;^)
