Does anyone have or know anybody that has a rear speedster clip for sale. Pretty much anycondition will do. I just picked up a 55 Porsche Continental Coupe with body damage to the rear. I want to turn it into a speedster/speedster style body. Replacing the damaged rear body metal with a fiberglass clip is the easiest option.

Anything, in pieces or whole, is good. I live in Massachusetts, but if it's too far away to pick up, chopping it into smaller pieces andf shipping those would work out just fine.

Any help would be a . . . help.

Thanks,

TC

Suspect that car would be worth something restored and metal body parts are probably available. Ya chop the roof off and you are going to build a substantial metal sub frame. If not when you open both doors it will fold in half. Its near impossible to permanetly bond fiberglass to metal --- it will quickly crack at the joint. Why not sell it and get an unfinished kit --- IMHO both would be worth more than a bastardized original.
YUP!

He is willing to provide an entire rear clip, plus inside bracing and possibly deck lid and bumper. I have to double check the cars early next week (they're in storage) and get back to him for a total price including shipping.

If the costs don't kill me I'll go for everything!

If they're too high for me right now, I'll have do a partial shipment and scrounge the rest later.

Either way, things are falling together, maybe not done for this Summer, but surely next.

Thanks all,

TC
It's really easy to make the body more stiff. Basically you take a couple of 1" x 3" channel irons. Weld two of them flat together...
'__"__' and then drill holes to match the body/pan bolt pattern. Bolt these under each side of the car and you have put significant stiffeners in. If you use aluminum, it will be light and even more ridgid.
