Whoever put my car together the first time was an idiot! That being said, I have been slowly correcting his errors and flaws. Today I added Dynamat to the engine compartment and noticed this again (this time is just bugged the hell out of me). The bumber on my car sits way too high and before I put the engine back in the car, I would like to remove and reweld the bumper bracket in the correct spot. Problem is... I am not sure how high that it should be from the bottom. Also, the bumper is bolted to the rear support bracket which is welded to the rear frame. The frame is in the right position (I think), the the support brackets shoot straight through the glass. My question is this... what should the bumper bracket be welded too? Is there an additional piece of square framing welded to the frame to lower the bumber brackets? The picture below is the only one that I have showing the rear view of my car. I know, and I have been told that it sits up too high.
