Doctor Clock / Alan Merklin is the "GO TO" guy for this.....   Basically the angle is determined by which "post" is used. (different brands)....   I believe there is a spec for the post's holes and the bottom aluminum retaining strip falls out when the assembly is prototype mounted......  If I remember correctly, the post's holes are 48 inches apart....

You might get more data from the "build manuals" in the sites library found under "Resources"...

I have 52" on a CMC   but that is not, the exact measurement needed. What you want is for the post base to sit as flush as possible to the fender  I have a template that has the post position to fender and the windshield base marked . It faxes well ..PM if needed with a fax number. Also the aluminum frame base wants to sit about 3/8" - 7/ 16" from where the wiper post meets the flat cowl. You also need to be sure that there is enough clearance forward from the back side of the dash i.e. on the under side of the fender to accept a washer and post ( tube) spacer...You may  need to cut some of the washer away.

Firstly thank you for all your replies, the reason I am asking for this info is that I received a Vintage Speedster Windshield frame and side posts which I would like to fit on my speedster, the only difference I noticed from my old windshield assembly and the one from Vintage speedster is the side posts posts the angle are not the same I have no idea how far-off is our cars if compared to the cars in the USA,   All I know is that our cars  front cowl/dash has been modified over the years and by how much I cant say the information will help me establish a base to work from, The post mounting holes is as per the CMC build manuals, I also agree the windshield side posts does determine the angle but I suspect the fender mounting surface on our cars could be wrong.  As you will notice on the attached pic I am about a 1/2" off and had to modify area which the gasket and trim piece rests on, the windshield is correct that has been verified, even spacing the side posts I could not achieve the fit. My speedster will be going for the final fiberglass rework and this is one area I would really like to rectify. The ideal would to have a template from the front hood to dash and a template of the fenders, as I am thousand of miles away i am sure If I have the angle and the distance I should be able to rectify the problem. Alan I will take your offer I will PM you with my fax number.
