Rear deck lid

Yup, I just finished solving that problem on my Argentinian CMC kit from the early 80’s. I used a Puma cooling shroud to keep the bottom of the tray (under the rear hatch) from hitting and I had to cut back my custom hinge brackets to clear as well. I can send pics if you would like to see how it turned out.

Thanks for your reply, I think that I'm going to customize the bottom forward section of the deck lid. That's probably the best way for me.

I know somebody here cured that problem by reversing the hinges- have a look and see if that helps.

You have that one off custom chassis, right?  is it too late to add a 1x2" steel tube perimeter frame to raise the body up a bit? (See photo of dune buggy frame).  If you flip the stock hinges from the build manual - you can clear the corners of the shroud.  I'm using a stock '71 shroud which ic slower in center than the aftermarket dog house ones.  You can modify the rain shield in the stock engine lid too.

Also, a 36hp fan shroud helps.  It is more rounded than the later models and gives more clearance at the hinges.  

Thanks for your replys, my hinges clear, it's just when you compress the weather seal to make sure the gaps are even the pnl rocks a bit. 

Wolfgang your right I do have the custom tube chassis.

I think a little fiberglass mods are in order.
