To any of you out there or anyone you know with a speedster that has rear disc brakes and an A1 Sidewinder with muffler that sits right next to the rear passenger wheel...PLEASE GO CHECK YOUR BRAKE LINE.

I just installed...a 15 minute job...my new A1 Race Bullet muffler - and it sounds DYNAMITE!!!  I absolutely am thrilled with the low grumble.  Sad things is I will never reinstall the other muffler that came with my car.

After marksbug was over a couple weekends ago, he crawled under my car and made mention that I should check that small rear brake line in the back as the muffler sits RIGHT UP AGAINST IT.

The race bullet is so much smaller and give a lot of room for clearnance.  but my rear brake line has flat spotted through what looks like a heat issue being right up against it.  I am going to have to replace that line now as well.

Be sure if you have this set up you try and find a different way to route your brake line or get rid of that muffler.  one day you might find yourself without brakes...

no worries.  I am going to enjoy pissing off my neighbors for a bit with the race bullet anyway...but someday hope to be able to put the originall exhaust back on.  Here is a pic of the brake line.  You can see where the muffler was hitting it...

Carey has to cut and re-weld the Sidewinder anyway, as the Beck frame has a tube there that conflicts with the normal Sidewinder setup.  There is about 1/8" between the muffler and frame on once side and the tire on the other.  I looked at mine, and you could cut 1/2" to 3/4" out of the tube connecting it to the header to move the muffler a little further back.  That should provide enough clearance, and I'll bet that's what Carey does.  You might be able to squeeze in some heat shield to prevent boiling brake fluid.

I have mettel hard lines on my car that go down from the caliper make a few small loops then up over the trailing arm where it conects to the rubber line in a protected aera, I did not like the rubber line coming out of the caliper and having to make that turn, rubber if for flex not for making turns around stuff, thats when you get into problems.

also the ebrake cable on most are not in a good position either,I made a adaptor for it and rerouted it too.

I dont know why they dont come with a prebent line for an added $8, to the kit.

I realize the swing&irs could use a diferent lines. So  line kit could be offered for each. or just send straight line that could be used, but too many people cant do lines....no not that kind of line.for $an added $15 they could include lines for both swing&irs & everybody would be happy. in the end the builder should build a good delevered product.
