i recently replaced my tie-rod ends. after doing so, i had the front end aligned. the rear remained untouched. i noticed the passenger's side rear wheel was leaning in on the top while the drivers side tire remained fine. i took the car to my mechanic to check out. he adjusted the torsion bars and the arms that attach to the brakes ( i don't know what these are called). after i got home, i noticed the car seems to be higher off the ground, agood 1-1.5 inches higher. both wheels are the same, but now they lean in on the bottom. is this o.k.. the ride has improved, i just want to know if it is incorrect/dangerous-thanks -chris

You need to have this work done by a qualified VW tech---or Porsche. Just any guy will screw it up. THis happened to me wiht a 911. The more positive camber---that is the wheels further apart at the bottom and narrower at the top the better handling. Like when you are standing with your legs spread in sports, you have a solid platform. Put your feet together and a Girl Scout can knock you over. My wheels are so decambered that the rear ones only show wear on the inside 2/3. The reason you have a better ride now is that you have more torsion bar travel. I would not take your car deep into a turn right now or you may not have the shiny side up. I brought my IM to the best local place---they do all the police interceptors and hot rods and when they got to the rears they said to take it to a VW expert. I called my 911 mechanic of 25 yrs ---back in Cali---and he concurred. Be careful!~!
