Rear suspension brace

Tracy Grimm at TGFab is making and selling a bolt-in rear brace for VW pan swing-axle cars that some of the high-power VW 1/4 mile guys are buying and very enthusiastic about. They might fit the various Porsche replicas on pans - it will depend on clearance with the body shell around the rear shock absorber mount tower. The brace provides increased rigidity and I think eliminates wheel-hop under heavy accelleration. If interested you can email him at tracy@tgfab.com

we stock this; this item is very nice, and it's one I offered on special to the SO.com members a long time ago (nobody took me up on it).

Here's more info (edited) on what the brace is and how it works from Glenn on the CLF forum:

It has a crossbar that spans between the rear shock upper bolts.
This stiffens the rear suspension. The bar has two tension rods (one
each side) that ties to the end of the frame horns. This eliminates
any flex and wheel hop. With this setup the rear is bullet proof and
neatly fits under the stock (VW) sheet metal with no visible signs. Pretty
cool.

I wish I had enought power to induce wheel hop.

Well Ron, you may not have hop but you may have flex...

I took advantage of Johns offer and bought one from him at aircooled.net. The brace system is very high quality, however, I had to return it, as it won't fit my Swing Axle Vintage Speedster. The braces that go to the trans mount from near the top of the shock towers would have to pass right through the sub frame that supports the body.
Major alterations to either the subframe of the car or major alteration (more like re-design)to the brace itself would be necessary to make it fit.
If there was any way to make the brace system fit, or if they ever make one that fits Speedster replicas, I'd definitely have that system of braces on my Speedster.
