Picked up a rear half of VW suspension last weekend. Got it off THESAMBA with good title and matching vehicle plates to help fellow SOCer in UK get his Speedie registered there (he received it from NJ dealer with no title). I got a '74 trans and rear suspension out of deal (and sore butt from 7 hours on the road)! Thinking of pulling the trailing arms and fliping them (eventually) on my Speedie to address camber issues with lowering stock trailing arms. Here's great article I found on doing it (be sure to read follow on note about NOT flipping the spring plates too).

Note how the one trans mounting horn is completely rusted away!) Someone recently posted about oval hole either side on top of the horn pieces - it's where the heater box cables originally exited.

My current '70 chassis has double spring plates - not sure it this makes any difference in mixing the pieces.
