Just took delivery of my VMC Speedster this past weekend and am loving this little car. Need a little help with the rear view mirror. Two things:

1. The mirror tends to vibrate down while driving. I checked the screw on the clamp which fastens the mirror to the windshield rod and it’s tight. Seems to be moving at the ball socket.

2. Spoke with Greg at VMC and he said they all tend to vibrate down and recommends moving the mirror clamp bracket higher up, closer to the top of the windshield frame. So, I did that and while it helped a little, I have a rather tall torso and still need to bend my head down to see out the rear view mirror.

Does anyone make a replacement mirror which can clamp to the windshield rod and has a better made ball socket which will hold the angle of adjustment?

While talking about mirrors, I did find the small holes in the exterior driver’s door mirror and used a small Allen key in the slot to set and tighten that mirror down. That worked perfectly

Thanks for forum search!

When we made our new mirrors we do so with this specifically in mind (tighter ball socket to reduce vibration and prevent angle change) and they are WAY better than the old ones, BUT I supplied Greg with our mirrors until he made his own, so you may or may not have a Beck mirror on there.  Thus, I can't tell you mine will be an improvement because I don't know what you have, but it should be an improvement.
