I thought I'd start another thread since the original one is rather long.

Ok, so far I have confirmations from:
1. Me, myself, and I
2. Leon and Margaret Chupp
3. Marty and Sandy Grzyn..., er, Grinkz..., um... crap!
4. Nolan and Jan Scott
5. Felix Bircher (and?)
6. Jack and Alice Crosby
7. Aaron White (and wife?)
8. Richard and Becky Pascall
9. Tom Raymond (and?)
10. Scott Teele (and?)

Have I missed anyone with a confirmed room?

Other possibilities include Ron Crosby and son (any news, Jack?), and Clint Ownings. A few up in the northeast have expressed interest, but no plans so far.

Ok, I propose the following agenda:

Friday: Gather at the hotel in the afternoon and then drive to the F'n Pig for dinner and entertainment.

Saturday: Follow Aaron's proposed route on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Dinner plans are open, but we could either move the F'n Pig to this night, or go to one of many restaurants near the hotel. There's even a new P. F. Chang's nearby.

Sunday: Get up early and get to the Biltmore no later than 0830 to set up for a photo shoot in front of the mansion. I'll see if I can talk them into special parking, perhaps in the valet area. After the photos are taken, we would tour the mansion and grounds. Break for late lunch at Chelsea's Tea Room in Biltmore Village.

Alternatives:
1. Move lunch at Chelsea's to Saturday evening dinner and eat at one of the restaurants on the Biltmore grounds on Sunday.
2. Swap the Saturday and Sunday schedules depending on folks' interest level in the Biltmore versus the Blue Ridge cruise.

We need to decide which day we are doing the Biltmore ASAP so that I can confirm with them about the photo shoot. Ditto for lunch/dinner at Chelsea's as it's a rather small place, but the food is great (right, Tom?).

I am hoping to leave some free time for people to explore if they want, or to cruise some of Aaron's secret roads that can make the Tail of the Dragon look like the Toe of the Gecko.

12 Bones is decent BBQ. Don't wanna OD folks on BBQ, but it would work. There are also plenty of other places more in tune with the crowd, such as "Frankie Bones" (surprisingly good chain place dedicated to Frank Sinatra, et al). We have plenty of time left to scope out and make dining arrangements.

Hmmm... The more I think about it, Frankie Bones did a bang up job on my in-laws 50 anniversary. We could even get a private room.

Any thoughts on swapping Saturday(cruise) and Sunday(Biltmore), or is it good as it is? I want to call the Biltmore soon and get the photo shoot set up.
Biltmore is a popular spot for all kinds of commercial film & photo shoots, as it has 25 miles of pristine roads with no lane (yellow) markings..............but all shooting must be done before 8:30 AM, when it opens to the public

I would ask for special permission to enter & line up in front of the house at 8 AM
FYI: The PCA Parade (annual meeting) was held there in 1981

If that will not work, there are lots of places on the property to line up 10-15 cars
Tom Raymond posted the following on the original thread:

"Great Stopping Point during the October Rally weekend:
Wheels throgh Time Motorcycle & Car Museum (WTT) in Maggie Valley, NC
Maggie Valley is 34 miles due west of Asheville (just past Waynesville). I photographed the owner, Dale Walksler, being interviewed by Jay Leno yesterday at the Pebble Beach Concours. The great thing about WTT is that EVERYTHING in the museum runs !

More info: www.wheelsthroughtime.com

Dale is a wonderful host, and he would love to have us. I have photographed magazine articles on WTT & I took our local PCA club there a few years ago. I know everyone in our group will love touring this place."

This could be put into Friday for early arrivers, or Monday for late leavers. Otherwise we have to give up either the cruise or the Biltmore.

UNLESS...

Aaron - Could we alter the cruise to include this and still be doable in one not-too-exhausting day?
Friday night at the Fiddlin' Pig would be better. The day on the Blue Ridge Parkway could be a slow one based on the amount of October leavers. Start-up early and allow time for those that want to drive other routes that are listed below to do so. You and your 2nd seater will be on your own due to the frame twisting nature of some of the routes.

I'll have maps of various drives...Blue Ridge Parkway, Buck Creek Gap, the Diamondback, Green River Cove and the Little Intestine, etc. and locations of fuel stops. Note some of these may not be a popular ride for the right seaters.
Ok, I think we're closing in on the final agenda:

Friday: Early arrivers can go to the Wheels Through Time museum with Tom and me after an early lunch at Chelsea's. Then gather at the hotel in the evening and drive to the F'n Pig for dinner and entertainment. Those who don't want to go to the museum can cruise on some of Aaron's "chassis blaster" back road routes.

Saturday: Follow Aaron's proposed route on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Dinner plans are open, based on how much energy we have after the drive. An early start is recommended for the cruise. There are plenty of places that we can go to for dinner, but we need to be cognizant of the group's size, so we should probably make reservations no later than Friday.

Sunday: Get up early and get to the Biltmore no later than 0830 to set up for a photo shoot in front of the mansion. Again, I'll see if I can talk them into special parking, perhaps in the valet area. After the photos are taken, we would tour the mansion and grounds. Suggestions open for late lunch as Chelsea's may not be large enough. We could eat at one of the places on the Biltmore grounds. Again, reservations are wise due to the season and the group size.

Monday: Individual cruises for those that are staying in the area.

Sounds like all that remains is to select the dinner spots for Saturday and Sunday.
Too late too object. I've booked the Fiddlin' Pig for 7:00 PM Friday, 15 October 2010. We will be seated at different tables up close and personal with the Music. Nancy at the Pig suggested this seating arrangement so you fiddiln', pickin' and cloddin' lovers can enjoy. A group table would have been in the way-back. The individual tables will be "grouped" together. We can all yell, shout, whistle, stomp and whop it up as a group. Also a note to keep in mind is that The Pig has their own FULL BAR! BYOB may not be possible due to North Carolina ABC rules.

If any changes in the count, please notify me ASAP!
Lane, you're a sick man.
I saw your little sneak-attack ploy to get me to go to the Fall Run in the Smokies.
Don't think I didn't see your fake salad dressing, right there in the Harris Teeter -- next to the Newman's Own and the Kraft.

For the rest of you folks who weren't in on Mr. Anderson's psychological operations scheme ... :
