Red Cocomats

You asked for an opinion, so I'll give you one: Not bad, but not my favorite.  The red is close enough, but not quite there, to the car color, so to me it seems to clash a bit.  maybe I'll like it better in the flesh.

Rich, I'm not crazy about the red mats in your car.  I get a picture in my head of Vince in the  70s wearing his clogs.  Order some samples from Drew of colors that match your carpet and also try a few of the blacks.  I could not find a proper match in Coco so I went with sisal material, they're awesome.

Lane, yes, my concerns as well, though I think it'll work. I plunked down a computer print-out on the floor of the car and it looked pretty spiffy. Here's a little more detail and heel pad too. Yes, I know, I need to get my tan shift boot back on.

Thanks for your opinion, Marty. Somehow I believe Vince will never set foot in my car, so the clash will never happen. Pink clogs with white fur...oh, the horror!

The other option is the black red if you have a black roof etc?

 

i just ordered the natural with white - for a cream bodied car..

 

Rich I tried to post to FB but having some issues, damn work PC. As you can see I don't have any issues around the pedals and the fit is perfect.

BMK, thanks for your thoughts as well. However, my car has a tan top. Back a couple of years ago I was considering Joe's and Lane's type here, however, I have since rethought this and I am hopefully going to have something a little different. Drew at CM's is sending some of the natural color samples as well.

Yes good point the roof in tan does make that difference.

 

i just ordered the mats and they were very reasonably priced even with the post cost of $90 to Australia.

 

Drew's  site has the photos of each mat color combination on it - Mmmm think it was his site.. 

 

Anyway I Googled Coco mats and one site has lots of photos of the many different options.

 

But they certainly look the part though..

not red, not tan, not even in the same galaxy, but I wanted to show mine off...love my cocomats. 

I must be drinking a different flavor coco than yous guys. although the tiny marshmellows in tdr's are a sweet addtion.

My opinion:  red mats with red paint is too much red.

 

My recommendation:  go with something like this:

 

Ron, two years ago, I thought this was going to be my route also. Lane and Joe have that color in theirs. I had some in my '73 Sierra Tan BMW 2002, I liked them (I think I remember) in that car. But with my "arrest me red" Speedster, I might just take a little more distinct look. I've tried these two other colors, but both seem rather boring, especially the lighter one.

Color #21 or #92 on their web page would be my potential choices. Having seen your beautiful Beck up close, I think much more red than you already have might almost detract. Now if they could make a beige with a red dot in it, you got something!

I was just going to say the same thing...see if they will do a one off with red dot on tan?

I have the second one in my Westy, but I like the first one more (for your car).

Having said that, I agree with TDR-Tan with red dots would look very nice.

The red ones look like prayer mats...

FWIW, tan with a red dot would look something like this (also installed your tan shift boot, too).

 

Not sure if this is the way to go, either.

Let me introduce you to the world of black rubber mats! They go with everything, and they can be washed over and over.

thank god for photoshop.  the tan with red dots now reminds me of capn crunch with berries.

You're gonna need tuck & roll upholstery & a little dog with a bobbing head.  Might as well put in hydraulics too so you can cruise low & slow too :-)

And don't forget the spinners and ground effects lights!

Actually I think mats should coordinate and be swapped out with the color scheme of the drivers clothing ensemble. I believe that Drew at Cocomats.com can probably match up if you were to send him fabric swatch samples of your outfits. (Don't forget a snippet of the long neck scarf that blows in the wind as you drive.)
