Registering in Georgia

I have a vehicle that I purchased used in California. It was registered as a 2000 "Special Construction" but when I transferred the title it was changed to 2003 "Special Construction". Subsequently I have moved to Atlanta, Georgia.

Does anyone know if I am going to have a problem registering the vehicle here? All newer cars are supposed to pass an Emission Inspection. I'm concerned that the 2003 Special Construction is going to cause the Tag Office to demand it pass Emission.

I was thinking about just showing up with the VIN number from the VW Pan, telling them I lost the title, and asking them to help me recreate it. But maybe I don't need to worry about it.

Does anyone know anything about how things work here in Georgia?

I've had really good luck just having my insurance agent ask the questions for me. Most companies have direct access to the DMV and can get answers and alternatives WAY easier than I ever could.

I have all of my vehicles and house with the same agency and my agent is just terrific with this stuff.

Maybe worth a try?
