Contact Roland at Vintage Speedsters or Larry Jowdy on the SpyderClub forum or he posts here sometimes. On the other hand, if what you need is a "Tune Up" the price of $300.00 may not be too bad if you mean performance tuning your engine. A simple valve adjustment, timing, plugs, etc. tune up is a lot different than having to spend time tuning dual carbs that may not be corectly jetted for a motor. Good luck!
Coming from a performance and service back ground I can tell you $300 is cheap insurance for the caliber of engine you have... Don't cut corners with a performance engine or you'll regret it... Remember the old saying "do it right the first time"

Good and reliable mechanics are hard to find. Once you find one it's like a good doctor, you stick with him....

One last example: Do you go to On the Boarder or Taco Bell for good Mexican food???? You get what you pay for.... $100 bucks a hour is going rate for good mechanics, and 3 hours to propperly tune your engine is about right....

my .02 cents
