Removal of side trim. | 356 Speedster, 550 Spyder, Replica, Automotive Community

I'd like to get rid of my side trim. I think, that mine might be adhered, in both manners. The inside of the doors shows small little projections along the path of the trim. Inside the front wheel well, I can not feel any such bumps, so perhaps this portion is on with adhesive. Biggest problem, is I'm unsure of the color, I think it is Guards Red, but it is a CMC.

I have experience in working with fiberglass, but not painting. Is this project possible with care and taking my time?

Originally the CMC kit came with a roll (or 2) of self adhesive chrome plastic side body trim. Many use aluminum VW trim pieces with VW plastic clips (with holes drilled in car). Should be easy to tell which was used. If clips they fenders are most likely thicker fiberglass than the doors.

You might find the paint has faded, then you'll have a darker stripe under the trim...
